Kyle had been struggling with his mental health for years. After dropping out of school and getting a low paying job, he felt like he was living his life in a dark hole with no hope of getting out. Every day felt like a struggle and the crippling depression he was facing was only making it worse. At his wit’s end, Kyle decided to take a mental health ride. He gathered his courage and rented a bike to ride around his town, looking for help. As he pedaled away from his worries, Kyle began to think of all the people out there in a similar situation as himself. He thought of all the teenagers struggling with anxiety, the elderly who are suffering from dementia, and the countless individuals dealing with low pay jobs and crippling depression. This realization moved him to tears and Kyle found a renewed sense of strength. He was determined to fight against these struggles and find the support he so desperately needed.
By the end of the ride, Kyle had gained a greater understanding of his situation and what it would take to heal himself. He had even started writing down steps he would take towards finding relief. From then on, Kyle made mental health a part of his everyday life. He looked for ways to talk about his issues, and he joined a support group where he could find encouragement from others. It was a long journey but he eventually found his way out of the dark hole he was in. He had ridden the mental health ride, and it had helped him become the person he was meant to be.
